Medical and training supplies for Bario Pite clinic in East Timor
We have been helping Dr Dan’s free Bario Pite clinic for years now. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters this year we were able to provide even more than the usual amount of assistance in both supplies and training aids.
- Once again, the East Timor Maritime Police helped us offload medical and training supplies from Vega for the Bario Pite free clinic in Dili.
- Vega has a great little dingy but the police boat could carry so much more. They were a big help landing all the medical and training supplies we had this year for the Bario Pite Clinic.
- Entrance to the Bario Pite clinic. Every day they provide free health care for between 300 and 400 people.
- This free health care facility is an important asset for Dili’s poor. Here people wait to see the doctor. Prescribed pharmaceuticals are given for free.
- The maternity section. Here women wait to be examined.
- Some kids can be happy anywhere.

- The buildings are old and often in desperate need of repairs but they try and keep them operational. As Dr Dan says what they really need is a few million to build a new hospital.
- Vega volunteers Meggi and Elsa help sort the newly delivered supplies and training aids
- Dr. Dan and Dr. Aida inspect the newly arrived supplies with Meggi and Elsa. Dan calls us the saints from the sea.
- Dr. Aida and Meggi inspect one of this years new midwife re-supply kits.
