
Promoting environmental education
All headmasters of the primary and junior high schools in the Banda Islands where invited.
The aim of the workshop was to promote environmental education, permaculture and waste disposal. The concept was to motivate headmaster to introduce new lesson plans and be willing to support teachers in this approach.
The idea of an annual eco-friendly and sustainable competition was launched, and books about permaculture, basic healthcare/nutrition and posters for classrooms were distributed to participants.
- Meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture who joined the workshop.
- Magafira Ali was heading the presentation an introducing the concept of school competitions, where schools and teachers who perform outstanding in the area of environmental education will receive rewards in the form of sports, music and science equipment.
- Each participant received books and posters in Bahasa Indonesia.
- This was made possible with the sponsorship of Adaro energy and Jotun Indonesia, who covered the printing and purchase cost for all the materials.
