Finding Sponsors for Solid Waste Projects
Vega is a Catalyst. We bring together people who need help with those who want to help. One of our priorities is finding sponsorship for promising projects & deserving people. Financially the waste management projects in the Banda islands and Medang island are way beyond our small budgets. They need equipment and infrastructure for adequate collection, sorting and processing.
Muhamed Amir from Medang island and Magafira Ali from the Banda islands travelled to Bandung to attend the eco-camp for the education for future green leaders. Training is provided by Yayasan Sahabat Lingkungan Hidup (Eco Camp).
Since we are involved with the waste management projects on both islands we asked Okty Damayanti, Divisional Head of CSR at PT Adaro Energy, for advice on how to provide training for these young teachers who are tackling the solid waste problem at the source. She agreed to sponsor Amir and Maga to attend eco-camp for a week-long training workshop in Bandung. There they met other aspiring young environmental leaders to discuss and learn sustainable environment.
